Timeout options for sftp
Hi,
I'm getting a lot of videos not uploading in SecuritySpy to my sftp server (linux box), I suspect its because the harddisks are set to spin down regularly and thus SS is
timing out trying to send.
Is there anywhere it would be possible to try and extend the timeouts to see if it would fix the problem?
Cheers, Andy

Hi Andy,
The SFTP timeout in SecuritySpy is 40 seconds, whereas hard drives should spin up in 5 seconds or less. So there may be some other problem here, possibly related to the network. However, when an FTP upload fails, SecuritySpy will retry the upload four times before giving up completely, so even if there are intermittent problems, you should be getting reliable uploads - just make sure you're using the latest version of SecuritySpy. -
Cheers for the quick reply Ben, good pointer - the Mac is connected via wifi so will get a cable out of the loft and try it via ethernet.

Good idea - I think you'll find that will be much more reliable.

Great to hear that - thanks for reporting back!
